Experimenting with Supplements?

Wondering which supplements to take? The fact is, there is no one right solution. A core regimen consisting of a daily multivitamin, a high quality fish oil supplement and a total of 2,000 IU of vitamin D makes sense for nearly everyone. But beyond that, there are few hard-and-fast rules. As long as you stick with relatively modest dosages from a quality manufacturer, it’s okay to do a bit of prudent experimentation with supplements - as I often say, “Try it and see how you feel.” If you feel the need for guidance, you may also try taking the Vitamin Advisor questionnaire. Keep in mind that your needs may change over time - what worked for you at a particular age, or state of health, may not work for you at another.

I've been on a kick lately to get more potassium but can't find a local store that sells a stand-alone potassium supplement. Is it just something that doesn't work well or am I looking in the wrong places?
Jeff, I have found potassium on its own in supplement form. Try a reputable website with a broad selection, like Swanson Vitamins.
However, as far as I know, Dr. Weil and most other experts recommend not supplementing with standalone potassium. I think that there are risks to it, if you are already getting adequate amounts.
As you probably are aware, there is quite a lot of potassium in bananas, if you want a "natural" boost.
I've done some experimenting in the past but ended up sticking with a multivitamin and an omega 3 supplement. It works best for me.
You can also try Professional Supplement Center. All pharmaceutical grade vitamins and supplements which is really important! Also everything is fresh which so many other stores do not sell (shocked when I learned that!).
these days I'm using supplements and this was helpful.
